+ IS ALL YITM JEWELRY ACCEPTABLE TO WEAR AS ENGAGEMENT OR WEDDING JEWLRY?

Any ring can be presented as an engagement ring, but not all rings are the best choice for every day forever wear. Diamonds and gold are the traditional materials to wear as engagement or wedding jewelry because they are the most durable. Everyday forever is a long time, so choose wisely when considering a ring to be the everyday representation of your love.

It’s a big decision to represent your love with fine jewelry, consider a versatile set that can we worn in all the different times and events in your life.

All jewelry requires care and attention, so please realize just because it’s an wedding ring, does not mean you get to put it on and leave it on in all occasions for the next 60 years. Jewelry should be taken off before bathing, swimming, yoga, working out, doing the dishes etc.

We recommend a simple pure gold band as the everyday forever ring, and our inlay & diamond jewelry can be worn as the occasion permits.

+ SPECIAL CARE INSTRUCTIONS

YITM jewelry, as well as all jewelry generally should be removed before showering or swimming as chemicals in shampoos and detergents can soak into soft stones and cause discoloration. Remove your jewelry when lifting heavy objects or working out. Do not leave your inlay jewelry in direct sunlight where they can become extremely hot. Intense heat can crack inlaid stone jewelry.

+ How DO I KNOW MY RING SIZE?

Any jeweler should be able to size your finger at no cost. A jeweler can also determine your size based off a current ring that you know fits properly. We can size you in our store inside of Modern Nomad in Denver. Please note that many elements can effect your ring size including hydration, elevation, weather, and time of year. Please be aware of where and when you've been sized. This is especially important if you are not from Denver but being sized at our store located 5,280 feet above sea level.

+ Can YITM jewelry be resized?

Inlay jewelry features stones held inlace with epoxy. Once the ring is finished, it can not take direct heat, so we do not resize in house. The charge of $40 for a resized ring is the price to have an outside laser welder service resize YITM jewelry. You can facilitate this local to you as long as you find a trusted repair professional with a LASER WELDER which uses electricity instead of direct heat to solder. Resized jewelry voids any warranty on the piece. We can facilitate a resize as a courtesy and pass the price along to our client. Not all YITM jewelry can be resized due to the sometimes symmetrical nature of our hand carved rings like the STAR DUSTED HELENA solitaire styles. They physically could handle a resize but it would cause the symmetry of the carving to be off. Please make sure you know your EXACT ring size when ordering this and similar styles.

+WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO SEE YITM WORK IN PERSON?

Our ENGAGEMENT work is only available online though our website. However, you can see our engagement samples in person at our store inside MODERN NOMAD in Denver, CO. The days and hours of operation are TUESDAY - SATURDAY 11AM - 6PM and SUNDAY 11AM -4PM. (NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY).

+ DO YOU DO CUSTOM WORK OR ALLOW MODIFICATIONS OF YOUR STYLES?

We do not do custom work. The designs we have available online are pieces we stand behind and enjoy making. We do not take custom requests or modifications to existing styles. You are welcome to choose your own inlay stone and size from the styles listed in the "MADE TO ORDER" section, but other edits or modifications complicate the process and risk the integrity of our original designs. 

+ WHY DON'T I SEE ALL THE STYLES LISTED LIKE THE OLD WEBSITE? 

We have changed our ordering process. THE ONLY WORK THAT IS MADE TO ORDER, is listed in the MADE TO ORDER section. We are shifting our focus to engagement jewelry. You can still find our other work on the READY TO SHIP section or in many of our 95+ retailers. Please visit the RETAILERS page to see where our jewelry is sold locally.

+HOW LONG UNTIL I RECEIVE MY ORDER?

All YITM work is made by hand in our Denver, CO studio. Building and fabricating jewelry by hand takes time and we ask for your patience and understanding as we hand craft each piece. Unless is from the AVAILABLE section, which will ship in 3 days, all MADE TO ORDER work takes a maximum of 6 weeks. Each listing has specific production times. Please make sure this timeline fits with your schedule.

+ If I order a made to order piece & a ready to ship piece, when will they arrive?

If you order a piece from our AVAILABLE section and a MADE TO ORDER section, both will ship when the MTO piece is ready. If you would like the AVAILABLE section piece sooner, please place separate orders and the AVAILABLE NOW piece will ship with 3 days.

+ THE INLAY STONE I WANT IS NOT AN OPTION. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

The inlay stones offered in each jewelry listing are what is available in our current collection. Occasionally we offer new unique stones on Instagram,  If you like something we’ve posted and would like us to use it in your jewelry, please select "OTHER" and then leave us the request in the "NOTES" section of the order form. Stones vary in regard to their color and pattern naturally, but will always be chosen for their unique beauty. It is impossible to perfectly match a specific stone you have seen in the past, so embrace this natural variation and love the stone you receive.

If you choose one of our EXACT STONE options from out vast collection to use in a MADE TO ORDER piece, the sale is final and the jewelry is not eligible for a return.

+ CAN YOU USE SAPPHIRES OR OTHER STONES IN PLACE OF DIAMONDS?

We choose to offer our jewelry featuring the most beautiful, CONFLICT FREE, faceted stones. We only use DIAMONDS unless otherwise listed. No substitutions.

+ IF I SEND YOU A PHOTO OF A RING I SAW ONLINE CAN YOU MAKE IT FOR ME?

We do not do custom work. Our designs are a result of our creativity. Being asked to copy another artists design is unethical. We would never do that, and we would also never want another artist to be asked to reproduce our designs. Its important to support the artists you admire and buy direct from the artist themselves.

+ CAN YOU create a style in gold plate or pure silver if cost is an issue for me?

Our jewelry is sold exactly as listed. We are a fine jewelry company and do not use plated materials.

+ WHY DO I NOT SEE LAPIS LAZULI AS AN INLAY STONE OPTION ANYMORE?

After 1/1/2018 we have decided to focus on AMERICAN MINED inlay stones to insure the safety of the miners and integrity of the mining process.

+ I LIVE ABROAD AND ONLY KNOW MY RING SIZE AS A LETTER.

No worries.  International letter sizes an be converted to US sizes with a simple chart online. You can also leave your letter size in the order form and we will take care of the conversion for you! 

+ WHAT DOES "CONFLICT FREE" MEAN IN REFERENCE TO THE DIAMONDS YOU USE? 

Every diamond we buy from our supplier is certified CONFLICT FREE. They have earned certification from the Responsible Jewelry Council, verifying that they are in compliance with the Kimberley Accord and that their stones, their supply chain, and their facility meet the high standards of the RJC Code of Practices. Furthermore, the RJC routinely conducts audits to certify that suppliers are maintaining these standards. Diamonds are graded by a certified gemologist. 

+ ARE THE MATERIALS YOU USE RECYCLED? 

The supplier we work with provide us with 100% RECYCLED gold and sterling silver. Their position on responsible mining procedures goes much further than the gold mining process itself. It encompasses all aspects of gold: appropriate mining methods of conservation, remediation and fair labor practices. 

+ I HAVE A HEIRLOOM DIAMOND, CAN YOU WORK WITH MY STONE?

At this time NO.  

+ CAN i just buy one of your settings and have another jeweler set my stone?

Unfortunately not. Only complete rings are sold at this time.

+ Can I pay in INSTALLMENTS?

Unfortunately we are unable to integrate our website with “buy now, pay later” payment solutions. If you are interested in purchasing a piece of jewelry from the MADE TO ORDER section that is over $1,000, if you reach out to us via the contact form we can send you an invoice via email. We will start production when 50% of the total invoice is paid, and the second installment will be due before the piece is finished.


+ CAN JEWELRY BE RUSH ORDERED IF I HAVE AN OCCASION OR EVENT ?

Often jewelry can be rushed in order to meet a deadline or special event. There will be a 15% RUSH FEE applied to your order that must be paid before jewelry is put into production. Please email to see if the specific piece you need can be rushed. We will do whatever we can to help you. 

+ RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

Returns are accepted within 14 days of the ship date for STORE CREDIT only. This excludes “MADE TO ORDER” orders or SALE items which are FINAL SALE. Please email YITMFINEJEWELRY@GMAIL.COM with RETURN in the subject line. Customer is responsible for safe return shipping. YITM is not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.

If you choose one of our EXACT STONE options from out vast collection to use in a MADE TO ORDER piece, the sale is final and the jewelry is not eligible for a return.

+ WHY SUCH A STRICT RETURN POLICY?

We are a small team of 2 fabricating our jewelry by hand. We let our customers choose their exact stones in order to insure the outcome of the MADE TO ORDER piece is exactly what they see online. With clear control of the design, returns for reason of “stone dislike” should be impossible, as this is the origin and goal of the entire EXACT STONE offering.

The return policy is strict so that we can not be taken advantage of by shoppers who like to “borrow” jewelry, wear to an event and then return.

+ INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING & REPAIRS

International shipping is an option at check out. Client is responsible for shipping both international directions on any pieces needing any future repairs. 

+ Shipping options

We use USPS because the maximum insurance value of $5,000 usually covers most of our jewelry at an affordable rate. We ship hundreds of packages and have not had any issues using USPS. FedEx does not ship to PO BOXES or allow for more than $1,000 insurance on fine jewelry. If you have a special shipping request you can email us for a quote for your special circumstance.

+ INSURING YOUR YITM FINE INLAY JEWELRY

You should have your jewelry insured by your private insurance agent. YITM does not insure jewelry but will provide invoices upon request. All loose, heirloom stones shipped to YITM for custom work, need to be insured prior to shipping.

+ WARRANTY

We stress the importance in choosing jewelry that is appropriate for your lifestyle.

We provide a one-year warranty on all of our fine jewelry from the date of completion on all items ordered direct from the YITM website only. Chains breaks are not included in this warranty and will be replaced at a cost of $60 plus shipping. 

Fees for damaged pieces, if repair or remake is necessary after 1 year,  will be according to the extent of the repair or remake. It is your responsibility to ship and insure your jewelry. 

Within the first year of purchase we will replace pavé accent diamonds that go missing if we feel that it is a craftsmanship defect. After 1 year of purchase all missing side or accent diamonds will be considered wear and tear and will be repaired at the expense of the customer.

Any repairs, resizing or work not done or facilitated by YOUNG IN THE MOUNTAINS will void this warranty.

+ GIFT CERTIFICATES

Gift certificates are available here starting at $100, in increments of $50 . A customized PDF of the gift code will be sent to your email. You can then print or forward the certificate to whomever you wish.
